Mizuno Breath Thermo Winter Running Range

November 21st, 2011 by Ransacker | Comment

Renowned for their performance rather than aesthetics Mizuno has once again produced a Winter running range that looks set to handle anything that mother nature can throw at you. We reviewed the latest high performance Breath Thermo range which promised to deliver unrivaled temperature regulation. In Mizuno’s own words: “For the truly dedicated, running isn’t just a warm-weather sport. That’s why we developed Breath Thermo—our revolutionary technology that keeps you warm even when mother nature turns down the temperatures. Wear less. Stay warm. Keep on running.”

Mizuno Breath Thermo Half-Zip Woven Combo Running Top – £49.99

They say: This Performance Breath Thermo Running Half Zip woven combo Top changes body moisture to heat for overall warmth, wind proof fabric for maintaining a core body temperature, superior moisture absorption and extended cuff with thumb hold making this an ultimate warm jacket for the serious runner who are looking for success.

We say: Underneath the retro styling lies a high performance running top. It’s a rare commodity to find a running top that can keep you warm without overheating. A silky and close feel thanks to the combination of materials gives good freedom and the hi-vis side panels make you stand out on dark nights. It also helps you avoid the chill due to a wind breaking outer layer, perfect for Winter running.

Mizuno Crew Neck Long Sleeve Running Top – £39.99

They say: The long sleeve Crew neck shirt combines the unique Breath Thermo fabric for warmth and Dry Science fabric for efficient moisture control. This top will keep you warm on colder days. Mizuno’s revolutionary thermal material Breath Thermo is the only fabric in the world that can self generate and control heat

We say: We had originally intended to use the top primarily as a base layer but it does such a good job of keeping you warm that we found no need for an additional layer. It should certainly see you through the Winter months with perhaps the addition of a windproof jacket.

Virtual Body Compression Long Tight – RRP £50.00

They Say: Mizuno’s Performance range combines fit and feel with technology and performance. Mizuno research into body and skin movements culminated in “Dynamic function” cut. DF Cut’s function is to provide superb freedom of movement by matching design of body and skin with the pattern of the product.

We Say: We’ve all experienced tights that ride up, fall down or mysteriously start to wind around your legs. Thankfully the compression tights stayed put. Firmly clinging in place and providing a bit of extra support for tired limbs. They were comfortable and we’ve yet to witness any signs of chaffing!
