The New Balance 1906 is a pioneering running shoe developed using new Balance cutting edge technology to form a mild supportive running shoe. The New Balance 1906 incorporates full-length N-ergy system to provide responsive cushioning to last over the long haul.

The  New Balance 1906 shoe is not soft, but the energy return makes running easy. A BIOCOOL lined upper helps keep the feet drier and cooler.

We think: New Balance has raised  the bar with the 1906 thanks to supreme cushioning, a touch of stability, and a soft, accommodating, mesh upper for unbelievable fit.

Overall Review: The 1906 is a high-cushioned, high-mileage shoe that rides smooth and feels densely cushioned underfoot. Our wear-testers roundly agreed with one tester who described the shoe as the Swedish foam mattress of running shoes. The heel and midfoot fit very nicely, but we were disappointed that a $200 shoe still suffers from forefoot overlays that fold down onto the toes during toe off. The 1906 is a hot shoe. The tongue is too stiff, putting pressure on the top of the foot. Maybe a bit heavy, too.
