The Japanese manufacturer has created the Mizuno Ignitus a boot built for both power and speed, which looks set to give the likes of the addias predator X and the Nike T90 Laser III a run for their money!

Mizuno have implemented a groundbreaking new feature: the 360 Degree Bio Panel. The panel has been specifically engineered to provide three different types of contact when striking the ball withe the Mizuno Ignitus, giving a real sense that you control every single movement.

Mizuno’s development team collaborated closely with CSKA Moscow and Japanese International midfielder Keisuke Honda, on the design of the Mukaiten Panel, which features on the instep of the Mizuno Ignitus. The Mukaiten (which translates as ‘no spin’,)contributes devastating precision to free kicks. With England boss Fabio Capello conceding his players’ are not comfortable with the new Adidas ‘Jalabani’ World Cup ball, we could witness some spectacular set pieces this year.

The Mizuno Ignitus is made from the highest-grade kangaroo leather and is designed with the revolutionary ‘Dynamotion Fit Concept,’ which offers a closer fit around the foot, without compromising durability or support.

The new stud configuration enhances traction on firm ground. The result?Reduced stud pressure and improvements of both flexion and comfort, meaning you can get to the ball quicker than ever.

The Mizuno Ignitus‘s vibrant yellow and black colour design may make it appear as though you have two small cheetahs strapped to your feet. However, it certainly increases the player’s visibility to teammates.

Both Santa Cruz and Keisuke Honda will be sporting the Mizuno Ignitus at the forthcoming World Cup, and Mizuno’s global ambassador, Santa Cruz knows just how integral it is for players to get the right footwear.

“I have to be comfortable and confident in front of goal.

“When I choose my boot, it needs to be able to cope with the pace of the game, handle my share movements and give me total control in the box. Mizuno understands this better than anyone.”

Personally I can’t wait to get hold of a pair when next month I will pit my skills against our Pro boot tester Ben Burgess, who is heading to the Premiership this Summer with Blackpool FC. In the meantime here is a look at Santa Cruz testing the boots.
