The follow up to Puma’s v-Konstrukts, and the latest release in the Puma POWER Series, the Puma PowerCat 1.10 are set to become one of the most popular releases of the year.
With the helping hand of players, Puma has crafted a boot designed for ‘true football players’. Manchester United and England star Michael Carrick was in fact wearing the boots as they were debuted this weekend.
.
Puma has taken heed from the choice of launch colorway for the V1.10′s and gone with a neat, almost old school look, with a primarily traditional black covering, together with a touch of white and lime adding a clinical finish to the boot. There will be more updates in terms of colour after the initial release, but as of yet there is no definite announcements about these additions.

Looking to rival the adidas Predator X and the Nike T90 Laser III, no pressure there then! As has come to be expected of top-end releases, they come with a hefty RRP of £124.99, however the Puma PowerCat 1.10are equipped with a host of new features, such as; injected Puma 3D Power Shooting Technology, k-leather, an anatomically-shaped PowerLast, TPU-injected heel counter and an innovative stud configuration.
As you would expect the Puma 3D Power Shooting Technology is apporpraitely located on the striking area of the foot, although it does not venture as high as the shooting pods found on the Nike T90 Laser III it envelopes more of the foot laterally. Designed to provide a greater energy return it does feel slightly rigid so it will be interesting to see how this effects accuracy and spin.
It will be interesting to see whether the likes of Shay Given and Nemanja Vidic decide to stick with Puma’s replacements for the v-Konstrukts after endorsing the previous series. Our initial impressions are that you may even see some of the more loyal Puma King wearers switch to the PowerCats. Check back on Ransacker in the coming weeks for a full review of the Puma PowerCat 1.10! In the meantime here a video illustrating the best features:
