Boot Review – adidas F50i with Marvin Morgan

October 29th, 2009 by Chris Galea | Comment

Marvin Morgan played alongside the likes of Jermaine Beckford and DJ Campbell during his days in non-league football and, as another late developer, is hoping to follow the duo’s moves up the league ladder after an exciting first year at League Two Aldershot Town.

Marvin-Morgan-AldershotThe 26-year-old finally gained his move into the league game in 2008, after prolific spells with Wealdstone, Yeading and Woking earned him a move to the Shots. He scored a less than impressive seven goals in his first season with the Shots, but has finally found his feet this term.

He has already notched seven times in the 2009/10 season and could be set to hit the 20-mark this term if his form continues. He spoke to Ransacker’s Chris Galea about his Adidas F50i football boots.

Q. What football boots do you wear?
A.
I wear Adidas F50i football boots. I can’t imagine wearing anything else at the moment as I’m in the best form of my career.

Q. Have you always worn them?
A. No, I used to be one of those players who would change their boots every five minutes and it was very annoying and expensive, but the Adidas F50i football boots are doing me well at the moment so I won’t be changing them for a while.

adidas F50i TUNiT Pack Football Boots - Cyan/ White/ BlackQ. How many pairs of football boots do you tend to go through per season?
A. Well, I don’t really want to tell you how many I went through last season because it is embarrassing. It was an absolute joke and I only realised how much I spent on boots when I filled in my tax return. I’ve always said that if you feel comfortable in the boots you’re wearing then you will always feel comfortable playing, but last season I changed so many times that I didn’t really know what I was wearing each day. The Adidas F50i football boots are doing the trick this season though, so I won’t be changing them any time soon.

Q. Who at the club has the nastiest pair of football boots?
A. That is a tough one, but I will say Andy Sandell. He has got some old school Diadoras that were probably made in the 1980s! They are hideous and I probably used to wear those kinds of boots when I was 14-years-old playing Sunday league football! He is a top lad though, but his taste in boots just isn’t worth talking about!

Info from the Pro:

Grip: They have fantastic grip because you can change the studs for a variety of different versions, such as moulds, soft moulds, hard moulds, so it’s a very adaptable boot.

Durability: I’ve ripped a couple of pairs already, so in that case they might not prove to last that long. Although they are more durable than the Nike Mercurial Vapors!

Price: In terms of price it’s an excellent boot because if you look at some of the prices of others at the moment they are unbelievable. Some are going for £250 and you think they must be something out of this world to cost that much. It is a lot of money for a pair of boots which can rip or wear out in a short space of time.
