December’s Hotest Running Shoes

December 3rd, 2008 by Ransacker | Comment

Every month we scour the web to find you the hottest running shoes on offer. They may not always be the cheapest running shoes but they will offer the best value possible. Ranging from under £40.00 bargains to over £75.00 beauties! We will find a shoe to suite everyone; rugged trail runners, stylish gym goers, beginner runners, veterans and racing whippets.

Here is our selection for December

Built for Speed – Nike Zoom Victory from £69.99

Nike wanted to create “The Naked Ride”, forget about the shoe and run. This is easily done with the Zoom Victory. It is incredibly light (9.3oz) due to a Lunarlite foam midsole and a Flywire support system that envelopes the upper, giving tensile strength yet reducing weight. This shoe is not for the fainthearted. It’s built for lightweight fast runners that need some spring in their step.

Excellent Everyday Trainer – Asics Cumulus 10 from £59.98

An ideal long distance running shoe for the neutral runner. Fantastic impact absorption but not at the cost of performance due to a new decoupled heel, two-piece midsole and GEL cushioning. The redesigned heel-strike zone and a new footbridge makes the Cumulus feel firm yet cushioned and at one with your feet. An excellent everyday trainer that will step up to the plate when you need it to.

Will make you jump! – Brooks Ghost from £76.49

A jack of all trades. The Ghost has enough quality cushioning for long, slow training runs yet it is also the fastest, lightest and smoothest trainer Brooks has ever produced. Admittedly it feels more comfortable at high speeds due to its secure snug fit, contoured arch and springy toe-off. If you want an everyday trainer that you can take to the races then the Ghost is the shoe for you.

The best just got better! – Asics Gel 2140 from £68.00

The latest addition to the Asics 2000 range, evolving from the hugely popular 2130. The Asics Gel 2140 has been designed for moderate over-pronators who run long distances (over 10km) at a time. Although the DuoMax Support System that ensures proper support has remained the same, the stability has been enhanced and the fit improved via the addition of a 5.5mm Ortholite ComforDry sockliner. The 2140 looks set to become one of the most popular selling shoes of 2009 amongst the running fraternity.

Off Road Comfort  – Nike Air Trail Pegasus+ 3 from £39.99

The Pegasus+ 3 Trail Clima is the grippier cousin of the massively popular Air Pegasus road running shoe. These look and feel like road-running trainers, with generous cushioning and flexibility. The comfort level is high, they drain well and the iPod compatibility is a bonus, but the lack of protection means they’re best suited to gentle trails.
