July 9th, 2009 by Ransacker | 1 Comment

The latest running shoe range from New Balance has just been released and as ever the focus is on fit. In fact, 88 points of fit! New Balance call it Total Fit. When it comes to fit, size isn’t everything and NB go that little bit further to find the perfect fit. New Balance has more width/length combinations than anyone in the industry.

88 Points of Fit
Footwear companies typically develop a shoe and then sell it in a range of sizes. New Balance already has more sizes and widths than anyone. They start with the shape of the foot and then design around 88 points of fit to ensure the perfect fit for every customer.

The 8 Critical Points of Fit!

ARCH HEIGHT- The supportive arch aligns with the contour of your foot for greater stability and maximum comfort upon impact.

SHOE WIDTH- Sized to prevent blisters and irritation by balancing the right amount of space with stability and structure.

LAST / SHAPE-TOTAL FITTM means proper fit from heel to toe… around every angle of your foot. That’s the New Balance difference.

WAIST / MIDFOOT- This primary area surrounds your foot with a sock-like fit to provide solid structure and firm support.

TOE BOX VOLUME- Toes have just the right amount of room to flex without making unwanted contact with the top of the shoe. Foot remains securely in place regardless of your pace.

OVERLAYS- Performance is in the details. Using carefully selected materials and solid construction right down to the stitching. Every element works together to prevent pressure point irritation.

INSTEP HEIGHT-This distance accommodates the natural relationship between your arch and instep allowing for smooth contact and preventing numbness and irritation.

BACK HEIGHT- Proper height and dimension at the Achilles heel eliminates rubbing and irritation while holding your foot securely in place.
