The Best Selling Asics Shoe
It's easy to see what the Gel 2130 is Asics best selling running shoe. The Gel 2130 has been further improved for 2008. As the series has developed, there have only been minor tweaks, retaining the best features of this series of shoe.
The ASICS GT 2130 is an industry standard shoe for the pronator seeking a supportive, well cushioned, high mileage training shoe.
What's new? As mentioned above Asics only make minor tweaks to the 2130 series. For this update the fit of the upper has been improved with a shorter heel collar, and the technologies in the midsole have been updated, with softer Solyte foam and a firmer, more supportive Space Trusstic system. Asics also say the outsole has been made more flexible than in its predecessor.
What We Think: The Asics Gel GT 2130 running shoe perfectly combines support and cushioning. If you are looking for a classic fit and supreme comfort the GT 2130 will be extremely hard to beat. The midsole is soft but still firm enough to offer good support and responsiveness and at only 255 grams running in the GT 2130 is a real pleasure.

Asics Lady Gel GT 2130 Running Shoes. The next evolution of ASICS' top-selling series. The GT-2130 has a firmer ride for the serious runner in need of some structure.
- G.S - I.G.S.® (Impact Guidance System): Meeting the demands of all athletic activities, the I.G.S.® (Impact Guidance System is a technical design philosophy that allows the foot to perform in a more natural manner.
- DuraSponge - A blown AHAR® rubber compound for enhanced cushioning and durability in the forefoot.
- Duomax - A proprietary ASICS® system consisting of two or more different density midsole materials, designed to help correct the degree and velocity of pronation.
- Space Trusstic - An advanced system that creates a pocket between the Trusstic System® device and the midsole, allowing for greater midsole deformation and more efficient foot function.
- Forefoot ASICS GEL cushioning system - The silicone-based, GEL cushioning system in the forefoot reduces the loading forces that would normally be applied as the foot moves into propulsion. This reduces shear forces and along with flex grooves, enhances propulsion.
- Rearfoot Asics Gel Cushioning System - When running around the tennis court the foot can typically experience forces of 3 to 5 times the player®s body weight during heel strike. The GEL cushioning system, in conjunction with the midsole material, absorbs these impact forces.
- Solyte Midsole - This is a proprietary cushioning material that provides an exceptionally lightweight midsole. Solyte an advanced copolymer is significant lighter than SpEVA or standard EVA with excellent cushioning, bounce back and durability properties.
- PHF - Personal Heel Fit, is made of a high density foam which moulds perfectly around the shape of the hell and Achilles tendon. This supports reduces slippage and provides comfort and fit. The foam rebounds to its original shape when not in use.
- Solyte - Proprietary cushioning material that provides an exceptionally lightweight midsole with excellent bounce-back and durability.
- AHAR+ - ASICS High Abrasion Resistance rubber is a tough compound used at the heavy contact areas of the outsole. it helps to reduce excessive wear. AHAR+ is a lighter version of the general AHAR.
- Flex Grooves - These are located in the forefoot and / or rearfoot for increased Flexibility and cushioning.
- Triple Layer PHF technology - This is around the heel collar and gives you more comfort and a better fit.
